What a great definition for leadership from authors of book THE LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE.

According to this definition, leaders are skilled at doing 3 things:

 1) Generating a compelling and inspiring vision of a better world.

 2) Communicating their vision effectively to others.

 3) Driving and motivating others to give their blood and swear towards the vision.

As Seth Godin said in his book TRIBE: leaders form and lead a tribe towards a shared ideal future. So to be a leader discover your VISION, find tour target TRIBE, COMMUNICATE with them, MOTIVATE them to accept and promote your vision and finally EMPOWER them to advance the vision.
